The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. I had an opportunity to go inside three buildings in BODIE Ghost Town while I was on a workshop. Groups of 5 participants were allowed in at a time and only for 20 minutes. We could not touch ANYTHING. I like the colorful open doors that give a glimpse into the past.
